M G Boulter is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based on the windswept Thames coast of Essex. His music blends elements of folk, Americana, and traditional storytelling, rooted deeply in the landscapes and lore of coastal England. Known for his evocative lyricism and warm, introspective voice, Boulter crafts songs that feel both timeless and vividly personal.
His songwriting has drawn high praise from the music press:
Uncut described his work as “Gorgeous, in a word,” while The Independent on Sunday called it “Highly Recommended.” His acclaimed second album,
With Wolves the Lamb Will Lie (2016), was named one of the ‘Best Folk Albums of the Year’ by The Daily Telegraph, cementing his reputation as a distinctive voice in the contemporary folk scene.
Boulter’s musical journey began in the lively pub rock circuit of Southend-on-Sea—a scene that famously birthed bands like Procol Harum, Dr. Feelgood, and Eddie and the Hot Rods. Cutting his teeth in this fertile environment, he went on to front the much-loved country rock outfit The Lucky Strikes. As lead vocalist and guitarist, he helped shape the band’s raw, impassioned sound—once described by Q Magazine as “The Waterboys on trucker pills.”
Beyond his solo work, Boulter is a sought-after collaborator and session musician. He has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, and the US, sharing stages and working with with the likes of Jon Boden & The Remnant Kings, Simone Felice, Emily Portman, and Blue Rose Code, while also contributing to albums by artists such as Eliza Carthy and The Owl Service.
With each new release, M G Boulter continues to explore the intersection of tradition and innovation, offering songs that resonate with heart, history, and a quiet, resonant beauty.
Born in London and raised in the Wiltshire countryside, Nick Harper may be the son of legendary UK singer-songwriter Roy Harper, but he has carved a formidable and fiercely individual path through the music world. Immersed in a rich musical environment from a young age, Nick picked up the guitar at just 10 years old — and never looked back.
His formative years were soundtracked by icons. While most kids grew up on the radio, Nick was growing up around it — literally. With regular visitors to the Harper household including Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and David Gilmour, music wasn’t just a passion — it was a way of life. It’s no wonder that by 1985, he was already making his recording debut on his father’s critically acclaimed album Whatever Happened to Jugula?
Since then, Nick has gone on to establish himself as one of the UK’s most compelling singer-songwriters and live performers. Known for his dazzling guitar technique, razor-sharp wit, and thought-provoking lyrics, Nick’s music is a whirlwind of genre-bending invention — blending folk, rock, classical, and beyond. His live shows are the stuff of legend: energetic, unpredictable, and brimming with raw emotion and jaw-dropping musicianship.
Critics and fans alike struggle to fit Nick neatly into a box — and that’s exactly how he likes it.
“Nick Harper is a force of nature… the sheer weight of ideas in his music makes him irresistible and unstoppable... Harper the performer is a fearsome weapon. Phenomenal? You bet your life.” - Southern Reporter
Whether performing solo or collaborating with some of the greats, Nick Harper continues to push boundaries, challenge expectations, and thrill audiences across the UK and beyond.
When Ben Smith and Jimmy Brewer first crossed paths in 2015 at a special event organised by legendary singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading , they had no idea it would mark the beginning of a long and fruitful musical partnership. Selected individually by Joan to support her on her farewell tour, the two met as part of an elite group of up-and-coming artists. What began as a simple songwriting collaboration quickly evolved into something far more powerful.
Although their plan was initially to co-write, it became immediately clear that their musical chemistry was something special. With distinct yet complementary guitar styles and vocal tones that wove together effortlessly, Ben and Jimmy found that their combined sound was greater than the sum of its parts. Their very first performance together — opening for Joan Armatrading in front of a thousand-strong audience — sealed the deal.
Since that electrifying debut, Smith & Brewer have gone from strength to strength, performing at venues and festivals across the UK. Their engaging live shows and close-knit musical connection have earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting acoustic duos on the British roots scene.
Over the years, they’ve toured alongside the likes of 10cc, Ralph McTell and Fairport Convention and played hundreds of gigs together — from intimate folk clubs to prestigious concert halls. Whether trading guitar licks, swapping lead vocals, or harmonising with spine-tingling precision, Ben and Jimmy bring passion, humour, and craft to every performance.
Hailing from Northamptonshire, After the Flood are a beloved country-folk duo known for their breathtaking vocal harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and beautifully crafted musicianship. With a sound that is both intimate and expansive, they invite audiences into their world — one song at a time.
What truly sets After the Flood apart is the emotional honesty they bring to every performance. Their songs are deeply personal, often drawing from the highs and lows of their own relationship. From moments of joy and tenderness to the raw vulnerability of love tested, their music doesn’t shy away from the truth. Instead, it embraces it — with warmth, wit, and a genuine connection that resonates long after the final note fades.
With rich acoustic textures, thoughtful storytelling, and a stage presence full of affection and authenticity, After the Flood don’t just play music — they share their lives with their listeners. It's no wonder they’ve become a firm favourite on the local scene and beyond.
Dansmall is the formidable (and slightly mischievous) musical partnership of
Dan Plews — known for his work with Jon Boden, Saul Rose, Eliza Carthy, and Ian Giles — and Guy Fletcher , whose fiddle and mandolin work has lit up bands like Tickled Pink, Little Johnny England, The Albion Band, and projects with Ashley Hutchings.
Armed with guitars, bouzoukis, fiddles, mandolins, and two rich singing voices, Dansmall is an acoustic duo that doesn’t quite play by the rules — and that’s entirely the point. Together, they’ve toured across Europe and the wider English-speaking world, showcasing Dan’s award-winning songs and their irrepressible musical chemistry.
Since they first joined forces back in 1994, Guy and Dan’s on-stage connection has become second nature — tight, instinctive, and full of playful surprises. Whether they’re blending traditional folk with swing, sneaking in an ABBA riff, or delivering powerful original material, their performances are as unpredictable as they are unforgettable.
What people are saying:
“Giggly fiddle magic” – Taplas
“Energy and genius” – Oxford Mail
“Up with Carthy” – Folk Roots
Expect wit, warmth, wild musicianship — and a show that will have you grinning from the first note to the last.

By day, Maevis Darkhorse is a master craftswoman, breathing life into timber with her stunning hand-carved wooden sculptures. But when the sun sets, she transforms into something entirely unexpected — a captivating musical force with a bow in hand and a saw in her lap.
Maevis is one of the rare few keeping the haunting art of musical saw-playing alive, blending its eerie, soulful tones with an eclectic mix of genres including folk, country, Americana, and the beautifully strange edges of experimental sound. Her music defies convention — at times delicate and dreamlike, at others raw and unpredictable.
Performing alongside Maevis is the talented Northampton based singer Russell Heyworth on harmonies and acoustic guitar.
